The Executive Committee of the Federal CIO Council has
directed the Best Practices Committee to dissolve all of its communities of
practice and reconstitute them as a subcommittee if they can justify their
continuation.
The options for the IT Performance Management Community of
Practice are:
- Approve and leave it where it
is
- Approve and move it to another committee
(IT Workforce, Architecture and Infrastructure)
- Not-approve and reconsider it
in another form
- Not approve it
The fate of this community rests on its members and whether
they want to make this work. In the short term, it will require drafting
a new charter and stating objectives by July 6 or 9th. After
that, it will require the members to select topics and organize agendas for
future meetings. The time commitment depends upon your level of
involvement.
I have served as a co-chairman of this community when it was
established as a sub-committee under the Capital Planning Committee. I
will help keep this community alive if enough of the members will step up to
keep it going.
I will be on-leave from June 21 – 26. Please use
this forum to exchange your thoughts.
