This project was created to promote information integration and cooperation between levels of government and across agency boundaries. To these ends the program was designed to provide grant awards to states for the creation of a justice integration working group in each state. These working groups operate under the leadership of each governor and appropriate policy. Working group membership includes Law Enforcement, judicial, and corrections representation.

The National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center (NLECTC), a program of the National Institute of Justice, offers no-cost assistance in helping local and state Law Enforcement and corrections agencies implement current and emerging technologies. The NLECTC system is composed of five regional centers and is complemented by several specialty officers and a national center.

NLETS – The International Justice & Public Safety Information Sharing Network was created by the principal Law Enforcement agencies of the states. Over time the role of NLETS has evolved from being primarily an interstate telecommunications service for Law Enforcement to a more broad-based network servicing the justice community at the local, state, tribal, and federal levels.
