= Answers to the following Question: (3JHM)
"How has this WIKI forum, or any related socalled Web 2.0 (3.0?) Technology changed how you do things in your work and/or how you interact with people?" (3JHN)
- October 23, 2007 Exploration Workshops - an entirely fortuitous event at the physical meeting site at NSF forced the moderator and participants into entirely online collaboration & meeting mode -- which worked wonderfully well! All available communication technologies were used - online meeting, telephone conference calls, discussion blog site, and Wiki Agenda and downloadable slides and other meeting resource information. An important added benefit was the discussion blog where people could post and respond to messages while the more formal presentations were occuring and people listened in. This blog - like record of questions and thoughts can now be used to further explore and study some topics worth revisiting when there is additional time. Questions were asked - answers were provided - spontaneous references were posted. A call was made to the moderator to have this online blog be a regular feature of any future planned face-to-face Exploration workshop. (3QBA)
- Has prepared me to discover other like-minded people who can speak to topics of interest with authority and/or as subject matter experts. (3O7W)
- Has made me join the professional networking site LinkedIn so that I can more easily re-find people who I want to get a hold of and whose e-mail address may have changed (3O7X)
- Has prompted me to sign up for an NIH sponsored tutorial on Wikis which makes authoring and use much easier. (3O7Y)
