Having coined the term "e–democracy" in the early nineties, his knowledge comes from real–world experience in government and civil society. Today, with the support of a social entrepreneurship Ashoka Fellowship he is now dedicated full-time to building E–Democracy.Org, the citizen-based "local up" e–democracy initiative he helped found in Minnesota in 1994.
