Ronald C. Jones, Internet Projects Specialist (3YYQ)
Ron Jones has worked for the National Weather Service since 1985. NWS assignments have included Weather Service Offices in Cape Hatteras NC and Asheville NC, and Data Acquisition Program Manager Weather Forecast Office Columbia SC. Prior to his NWS employment, Ron was employed by the US Air Force (1981-1985) and served on active duty with the US Navy (1970-1981). Since 2003, Ron has worked in the NWS Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) Internet Services Group, managing Web content and policy compliance with Federal laws and policies, Departmental and NOAA policies, and developing NWS implementation instructions and polices. He is also actively engaged in exploring ways to effectively use Web 2.0 technologies in e-Gov interaction with citizens. (3YYR)
Ron serves on the NOAA Web Committee and chairs the NOAA Web 2.0 Working Group. Ron also serves as the Vice Chair of the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) Web Advisory Group and Chairs the Department's Web 2.0 Working Group. In addition, Ron is the Department of Commerce representative on the Federal Web Managers Council. (3YYT)
