Ron Lake is a founding member of the OpenGIS Consortium (OGC) and the original author of the OGC's Geography Markup Language (GML). In June 2002, the OGC presented Ron Lake with the Kenneth Gardels Gold Medal in recognition of his outstanding contribution towards advancing the OGC's vision of fully integrating geographic information into the world's information systems. Ron is currently the president and CEO of Galdos Systems, Inc. Since founding Galdos in 1998, Ron has established the company as an innovative software development firm that specializes in the application of Java and XML technologies to wide-area spatial information systems. Ron has master degrees in Aerospace Engineering and in Mathematics from the University of Toronto. (37TZ)
