Marilyn Metzler, RN, is with the Emerging Investigations and Analytic Methods Branch in the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia. In that capacity, she is co-chair of the CDC/ATSDR Social Determinants of Health Working Group, an interdisciplinary team of scientists, program specialists, and administrators representing CDC’s 11 Centers, Institutes, and Offices that is working to develop a social determinants of health research and practice program at CDC/ATSDR. Her current work is focused on developing social indicators to monitor and assess community health status with an emphasis on addressing health inequities in vulnerable populations.    (928)
