Kathryn L.S. Pettit is a research associate at the Urban Institute’s Metropolitan Housing and Communities Policy Center, whose work focuses on urban research and database development. She serves as deputy director of the National Neighborhood Indicators Partnership (NNIP), co-director of the project to develop the Fannie Mae Foundation’s Community Data System, project coordinator of the Institute’s work on Housing in the Nation’s Capital for the Fannie Mae Foundation, and co-director of the project for the Brookings Urban Markets Initiative to develop decision support tools to help guide land market development in five cities. She has been the leading researcher in the project to develop databases and data profiles for the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Making Connections initiative and in analysis of trends in concentrated poverty and other aspects of the Neighborhood Change in Urban America research program. She holds a Masters degree in Public Policy and a Bachelors degree in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. (3PM)
