A recent retiree from 40+ years Federal Governement service, now serving as volunteer, one of three Community Leaders working as a team to organize and establish Federal Connections ( http://FederalConnections.org ) – a Community of Practice (CoP) for leaders supporting CoPs across the Federal Government. Federal Connections goal is to enable & promote participants' collaboration; collective & individual learning; and sharing of knowledge, understanding, and wisdom gained by experience. Initially announced at the Federal e-Gov conference April 2004, the Federal Connections community is to bring together diversity of expertise, experience, and insight such as represented by community leaders from Department of Defense Acquisition University (DAU)’s Acquisition Community Connection (ACC – http://acc.dau.mil ); from the Federal CIO Council ( http://cio.gov ); from a host of Federal agencies and activities with global outreach; as well as proponents from Knowledge and Innovation Management Professional Society, International (KMPro – http://www.kmpro.org ), academia, research, and commerce.
