During a career in the Marines, Gary Ham served as an artillery officer and a finance officer and taught computer science at the U.S. Naval Academy. During his military tenure, he served as chief financial officer in charge of testing and function evaluation of a global accounting system comprised of 6,000 terminals running off six mainframes, all networked worldwide. He is a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, and a member of the OASIS EMTC. The EMTC’s Emergency Data Exchange Language (EDXL) is “a broad initiative to create an integrated framework for a wide range of emergency data exchange standards to support operations, logistics, planning and finance.” (37TV)
