Q1. How do I Edit a Wiki Page?    (2QXY)

A1. To edit Wiki pages, one needs to create an account by clicking the "create account" under the statue of liberty, fill in a user name and password, and enter the letters (all lower-case) and numbers that appear in the image to confirm that you are not a bot. In the image the "i", "j" and "1" can sometimes be hard to distinguish (the vertical bar is usually a "1"), so if you get an image you can't interpret, just press the refresh button on that "create account" page to get a new image to interpret. If you don't explicitly log out, the cookie created (cookies need to be enabled) should allow you to bring up the page next time as though you are logged in.    (2QXZ)

You know you are logged in if your username appears to the left of the parenthesis under the statue of liberty, and inside the parenthesis "logout" is present. If you are not logged in, create a new account. The user name and password can be any combination, but as a matter of good practice, the user name you use should be your own name, in "WikiWord" format, e.g. PatCassidy. Any password will work, but do use one so that bots cannot enter by spoofing a blank password.    (2QXX)

Once you are logged in, then as is usual with the Wiki, the page can be edited by clicking on "Edit text of this page" at the bottom of the page.    (2QY0)

Try refering to the TextFormattingRules page cited at the WikiHomePage (at: http://colab.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?WikiHomePage#nidW2).    (2RH5)

Try referring to edit samples at SandBox page or the EditSamplePage -- it is best for one to get into the editing mode, and then click "preview" -- this way one can compare the syntax and the presentation side-by-side.    (2RH6)

Q2. Where is the Tools Site?    (2QY1)

A2. As of now there is no specific directory for tools, only the generic reference directory: http://colab.cim3.net/file/work/SICoP/ontac/reference/    (2QY2)

As of now, there is only the DTIC thesaurus there.    (2QY3)

I would like to develop a good, well-organized list of tools for ontology and taxonomy construction, but do not plan to actually have tools or other resources mirrored on the site if they are available elsewhere. The DTIC thesaurus is there because is is not available elsewhere as a single-file download.    (2QY4)

On the ONTACWG home page (http://colab.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?OntologyTaxonomyCoordinatingWG) there is a reference to the PointerPage:    (2QY5)

      http://colab.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?PointerPage    (2QY6)

This PointerPage is a Wiki page, and anyone who has any information on useful tools, resources, or programs that use ontologies or taxonomies can put those references directly on that page. When the refrences accumulate, we will decide how best to organize it.    (2QY7)
