- Comment: It is recommended that the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) be reflected in Volume II, under the column titled “Data Management Strategy,” and possibly be listed under the column for Volume III. (agency comment / compiled 2004.12.06) (2JRX)

- Comment: The rollout plan, called Roadmap Guide, doesn't include the rollout of the Categorization of Data – which arguably could be the most important. (agency comment / compiled 2004.12.06) (2K31)

- Comment:The DRM Volume I should not be finalized until the next three volumes have also been finalized, namely, Volumes II, III, and IV, then the DRM as whole be approved as Version 1.0 and issued for implementation. It is critical, as the next three volumes are developed, that Volume I be adjusted to reflect the learning that will occur as a result of developing the subsequent volumes. We recommend that Volume I carry a “draft” status until that time. (agency comment / compiled 2004.12.06) (2KFP)

- Comment: The future OMB Data Management Strategy (DMS) document mentioned above is highly significant from a governance perspective. When it becomes available, the DMS document ought to be reviewed in tandem with the DRM, so that agencies might better assess the relationship between the DMS and the DRM-I and the resultant impact on their OMB 300 business cases, project planning, performance measures, and budgeting. - Comment: There is no mention of timeframe in DRM-I. While it might be more appropriate to address that in a cover letter, many people downstream may receive the DRM without a cover letter. It is helpful to know when the other volumes may be expected. (agency comment / compiled 2004.12.06) (2KFT)
