I recommend David trace SOA technology and
players from the early days of VAN EDI, MQ, CORBA, and DCOM, to the early XML-EDI
efforts, to early Web Services efforts leading up to WSDL/UDDI, to the current
state of service (i.e., information product) exchange over the Internet via
WSDL/UDDI at the field and multiple-field transaction (e.g., loosely coupled software
component) level, up to form, procedural, process, and business function (e.g.,
“Business Component”) information product and process level transactions
via OWL-S/Ontology-Repository.

RE: October SOA Conference ClosingKeynote - Suggestions onThemes
Thank you to those who have already provided suggestions on
themes for the closing keynote of our upcoming conference. I welcome continued
input - deally by COB this Friday - so that I can provide the suggestions
to David Linthicum.

Conference Closing Keynote - Suggestions onThemes
As you know, we are very happy to have David Linthicum are
the closing keynote for our October 30th-31st SOA conference. As the organizer
of the closing keynote, I would like to give the CoP the opportunity to
contribute ideas for themes for the closing keynote (meaning one keynote
address can incorporate multiple themes). Think of these as suggestions of
things that David can touch on. An example would be "The ROI of SOA".
If you would like to contribute one or more themes, please
respond to this e-mail (either directly to me, or to the entire list) and I
will forward them to David for his consideration for incorporation. Of course,
given 45 minutes he will not be able to incorporate all suggestions (assuming
there are plenty!), so the choice of what to incorporate will, of
course, be up to him.
Please respond before the end of September, as I have
promised David an update by then.
If you'd like some additional inspiration, here is the link
to the InfoWorld SOA blog that David is the author of:
