Greetings! You and your colleagues are invited to the Tuesday, March 14 Collaborative Expedition Workshop #49 at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Gaithersburg, MD., Administration Building, Lecture Room D, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The workshop is titled, "Leveraging Open Standards and Open Collaboration: Pioneering Mechanisms for Agility Across Open, Intergovernmental Communities ". This workshop is held in conjunction with numerous open meetings at Interoperability Week@NIST. You're welcome to attend these meetings also. Please register for additional Interoperability meetings at the NIST link below. Expedition workshop participants will explore the agility and effectiveness of select global Communities of Interest around global health and safety (i.e. Tsunami wiki and flu wiki) Important questions include: What lessons can we learn from self-organizing communities characterized by "service to the greater good", emergent governance and light-weight, interoperable tools?
