Greetings Common Upper Ontology WG Subscribers: (It's been at least
5-years since we last convened.) (01)
UCore Semantic Layer (UCore-SL) is effectively an upper
ontology, being implemented within DoD. Actually, it's built on a true
upper ontology known as Basic Formal Ontology (BFO) out of National
Center for Ontological Research (NCOR), which is then extended a bit
further and broader. The following is a training event on this work. (02)
The Army Net-Centric Data Strategy Center of Excellence and Army
CIO/G-6 invite you to attend a one-day training event on 'UCore -
Semantic Layer (UCore-SL).' There is no cost to attend. This event is
geared toward both technical and management attendees, including data
engineers, data modelers, data architects, data strategists,
ontologists, software developers, managers, and staffers. (03)
The event will take place on Wednesday, 17 March 2010, between
0900-1630 at 2530 Crystal Drive, Room T-7139, Arlington (Crystal City),
VA (Ten-minute walk from Crystal City Metro stop). Please register by 1
March to ensure a seat in this session. (04)

Vizenor, two leading experts in ontology and semantic modeling from the
National Center for Ontological Research (NCOR),
